1. SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE – BENEFITS DEPARTMENT


Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 2-years of experience in the field of employee benefits.
  • Familiarity with insurance carriers for all lines of coverage, especially Blue Cross Blue Shield.
  • Excellent oral, written and computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, internet).
  • Ability to work with minimal direction and be able to manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
  • Detail oriented, with the ability to follow through and take ownership of issues.

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide responsive customer service and implementation support.
  • Facilitate group carrier implementation meetings and oversee the seamless transfer of coverage from client/carrier/administrator.
  • Submit new business, agent of record letters and benefit changes to carriers and monitor their response and implementation, including the verification of carrier certificates and ID cards for accuracy.
  • Address billing, claims, service, enrollment, eligibility and amendment issues and proactively work with the clients and carries to resolve such complex matters.
  • Create sophisticated employee communication materials that will help the clients’ employees to better appreciate and understand their group benefit plans.
  • Maintain accurate client and carrier files with information based on in-force and prospective business.
  • Offer guidance to clients on the technical and regulatory issues affecting welfare benefit plans.
  • Assist with coordination of benefits issues and concerns regarding Medicare and other carriers.
  • Minimal out state travel may be required.


2. SENIOR UNDERWRITER – BENEFITS DEPARTMENT


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university
  • 2-5 years health and welfare experience in group benefits (medical, dental, life, STD, LTD).
  • Familiarity with insurance carriers for all lines of coverage, especially Blue Cross Blue Shield.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong math aptitude and computer proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet).
  • Strong analytical skills, with particular attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage professional relationships with clients, carriers and in a positive team setting.
  • Must work with minimal direction and be able to manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.

Core Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed health and welfare plan analyses for mid-sized employer groups.
  • Compile current plan and census data and prepare detailed requests for proposals.
  • Perform competitive market analyses and negotiate plan design and rates with insurance carriers.
  • Knowledge of self-insured product and pricing is a plus.
  • Prepare comprehensive plan proposals by objectively comparing all options available to the client.
  • Identify variances and trends in data, and apply the information to develop improvement recommendations for the client.
  • Implement new and revised benefit programs at the direction of client.
  • Work together with producers and service representatives to provide ongoing support and service, creating an exceptional client experience.
  • Experience in the implementation of new programs and benefit revisions and review of insurance contracts, plan documents and summary plan descriptions is a strong plus.
  • Take initiative to expand one’s knowledge of funding, administration, design, pricing and compliance matters and share findings with the team.
