Leadership Position: Benefits Department

LSG Insurance Partners announces a full time staff opening for a leadership position in Bloomfield Hills.

SUMMARY:

 Plan, direct, and coordinate the account manager, benefit analyst, and administrative teams in the pursuit of client sales, service, retention and growth. Duties and responsibilities include agent relations, pursuit of sales opportunities, delivery of timely and reliable service, reinforcement and adherence of corporate standards, production of accurate analytical illustrations, carrier relations, daily operations, team training, building of positive corporate culture, and reinforcement of policies. Individual must seek creative ways to exceed our clients’ expectations, meet corporate goals, drive employee performance, and introduce other LSGIP disciplines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 Minimum of five years related work experience in the field of employee benefits. Bachelors Degree preferred. Hold and maintain a Michigan health/life/accident producer licensing. Successful and extensive history of working with experience rated and self-insured products and pricing. Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism in every facet of presentation, interaction and appearance. Proficiency in the areas of oversight: Account Management, Benefit Analyst, and Administration. Experience managing a team of employees, including creation of procedures, team building, mentoring, and evaluating performance. Familiarity with rating and pricing methodologies for all lines of coverage, specifically Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan/Blue Care Network. Experience presenting complex material in front of clients. Strong math and analytical skills, with particular attention to detail. Customer-centric, professional approach in working with a variety of people. Detail oriented, with the ability to follow through and take ownership of issues. Excellent organizational and technical skills; is a self-starter and problem solver. Ability to work with minimal direction and perform tasks in a fast paced, complex working environment accurately and efficiently.  Excellent oral and written skills, used in a professional manner with clients and carriers. Intermediate level of proficiency using Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

·         Manage individual team member’s books of business and make regular adjustments to ensure capacity and delivery of exceptional service and material.

·         Monitor and own corporate and departmental performance and make necessary adjustments to ensure achievement of annual and long term goals.

·         Create and foster a culture of accountability, trust, and empowerment among the team.

·         Represent LSGIP with upmost professionalism in verbal, physical, and written manner internally and externally.

·         Monitor agent performance, adherence to protocols, proper interface, and delivery within teams.

·         Develop and execute strategies to ensure efficient procedures and systems within the team.  Meet with other department managers on global strategy, sales goals, and corporate infrastructure development.

·         Hold team members accountable for their work product and adherence to Agency procedures. Create methods for discipline and reward based on performance.

·         Manage relationships with carriers and ensure employees and clients are informed and up-to-speed on various product offerings, changes, and service issues. 

·         Identify career path for individual team members and set annual plan for growth through mentoring and other means.

·         Ensure team has appropriate knowledge of industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory compliance. Provide team updates in regular sales and operational meetings as well as written/verbal communication. 

·         Establish regular team meetings and one-on-one sessions that are well-organized and productive. 

·         Develop team members and mentor individuals to ensure growth, interest, and success.

·         Continually work to improve process and raise customer satisfaction. Develop team procedures, including BenefitPoint and other documentation.

·         Set standards for all stages in the acquisition and renewal process with correlating collateral, delivery, and Quality Assurance (QA) checks of work product to ensure client satisfaction.

·         Conduct regular individual work-in-process (WIP) meetings with team.

·         Attend prospect and client meetings to ensure proper delivery and consistency among teams. Conduct “ride-alongs” with team to provide appropriate feedback, acknowledgement, and improvement.
